Johnstown, PA

My cousin Tina got married last weekend so the family went back to Johnstown, PA for the big event. Johnstown is in western PA and is 2 hours from any major airport. I love going back there, its a small town where my Mom and her parents grew up and that my great grandfather helped to build. Alot of People know Johnstown because of the "great flood" That happened in the late 1800's it wiped out the entore town in less then an hour.

We got to see our family which is always wonderful and also got to see the 2 houses that my grandfather built. We also got to ride on the" steepest vehicular incline plane". It was built after the flood to try and help people evacuate up the hill. We were also fortunate enough that the wedding fell on the weekend of Folkfest, so we were able to hang out downtown and enjoy the festivites.

Some of us in front of the candy store. When we were little everything in the candy store was a penny so we loved going to Johnsotwn. The same owner still owns it but the place was mostly empty it was kind of sad. It was nice to see that it was still there.

Here are as bunch of us riding the incline plane. Cathy on the right (who's on the phone) grew up in Johnstown but was affraid of heights so she never went on it before. (She's on the phone tellin her husband that she actually went on)
