New Years Eve in New York City

Cold weather and car trouble!
Almost every year Dave and I like to spend New Years with his friends in the city! Its usually very relaxed and fun. The weather back east was great most of the time we were there it was relatively warm in the high 40's. A temperature I can deal with. Unfortunatley the temperature dipped drastically new years eve day and was windy and awful.
We got ready at Dave's parents house and headed to the train station. We got there 2 minutes before the train was supposed to come. Once we got on the platform we heard an announcement that the train was 20 minutes delayed so we decided to move the car to the other side of the tracks and walk back thinking that at 3 in the morning we would want the car right there when we got off the train. Almost as soon as we got back to the city bound side of the track we realized waiting out in the cold for another ten minutes was not going to be fun. after waiting almost 15 minutes another announcement came on saying the train was 50 minutes delayed. since this would mean another almost 30 minute wait Dave went and got the car and drove it back to our side of the track. Just as he pulled the car in the spot the train came! So I ran down down to get him and he jumped out of the car we were almost at the train when Dave realized he left the headlights to the car on so he quickly ran back while one of the other passengers helped me hold the door to the train open luckily he made it in time and we were off. A slightly stressful beginning to the night
In the city!
Once in the city everything worked out great the subway was easy and we made it to china town to go to a great restaurant and stuffed ourselves with dumplings for like 10 dollars a person! We then decided to just hit a local bar and hang out so we went to Mulberry St. and found a quiet bar! We couldn't believe how perfectly the evening went until at 11:30pm the bartender told us it was last call and they were closing in 10 minutes. We were definitley shocked that a bar was closing at 11:45 on New Years Eve. So we went back to Jason and Amandas apartment and had a great rest of the night.
Happy and Healthy New year to All!!

Christmas Day with the Gill/Saines

OUR CHRISTMAS DAY!
We spent Christmas day with my family this year, We had so much fun since there are 4 kids in my family and all of us now are either married or engaged it always a big crowd and makes the day more eventful!
The day started out with my Dad's famous breakfast, we are huge bacon eaters in our family, the picture below is the text message we sent to Becca and Josh (my sister and brother) when they were on the way home Chrismtas morning!

Ben Dave and I watching somone play the new wii fit that Ben got!

We ate an incredible breakfast thanks Mom and Mark! Then we went into the living room to open presents! Since there are so many of us we now do a secret santa and each buy for one person. We all have amazon.com withlists and it works out really well!

Dave was very excited to get more tools I think there a set of drill bits but not sure exaclty what type!

Dave and I in the middle of opening gifts

My Mom loves water so most of her gifts were swimming or kayak related, yet she does not have a kayak yet, maybe the life vest she got will be useful in the hot tub.

Ben got lots of great books and Wii Fit it was really fun to play!

Becca got a lot of different things, A coat, gift certificate, lots of great gifts.

I had Dan and got him a really nice fly fishing pole that he is opening in this picture!

Here are Josh and Sara opening up there gifts!

We went on our family trip to costco the next day! Who doesn't love costco, it was actully not as crazy as I thought it would be the Day after Christmas!

When we woke up New Years Eve day it was snowing really hard it was so beautiful out and my brother thought it was the perfect time for a dip in the hot tub.

Funny Bedtime story!

Last night at around 10 I finally convinced Dave to turn off the computer so we could go to bed. I went and washed up and when I was getting into bed I noticed he was eating something. First I thought it was weird that he was eating in bed at all we don't do that ever atleast that I can remember!

When I got closer I saw that he was eating a hunk of Mozzerella cheese I just started laughing thinking it was really funny and he said "well I had to find something that wouldn't drop crumbs"

Which I then laughed a little more at. Then this morning when we were getting ready he was complaining about being hungry and blamed me for not letting him eat more cheese.

I personally thought the whole thing was hillarious never in a million years did I think that I would find Dave in bed reading and eating a piece of cheese at 10:30 at night.

Christmas Eve with the Dorazio's

MERY CHRISTMAS EVE!

Carrie, Grandma Dorazio, Dave and Louanna

We spent Christmas eve at Dave's parents house it was very fun and relaxed! His Grandmother came over we had dinner opened presents and went to church. The Christmas Eve service is one of my favorite every year I love the music and the soft light from the candles!

His parents got the hang of ordering things from our Amazon wishlist it was great! If you don't have one I highly recommend you all put one together, throughout the year I add things I want as I remember or think of them. Now you can even add things that aren't from amazon its wonderful!

I was very excited to get a DVD of the television show Reba its hilarious!

Dave was very excited to get his fancy label maker!

Anyway it was really great to be back and see everyone and luckily it was pretty warm for most of the time we were there (warm being a relative term I don't think it was ever above 45).

Here are some more pictures of us opening up our gifts!

Christmas is here and school is over, for now!

I have been quite busy this last semester taking an Anatomy class which I loved but took pretty much every free moment of my time! I got the highest grade in the class so it was worth it!!

I was so ready to go back and visit friends and family for Christmas break! My first stop was to see the girls!! Jill, Debbie and I were all going to spend a night before Christmas at our friend Jenn's place, since she just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy we thought we would go to her. Unfortunatley there were a few problems, my flight luckily got in a few hours late however my luggage did not, but the really sad part is Jill never made it out of Seattle to see us or even to be with her Mom for Christmas. We missed you Jill! So we are all going to meet in Ohio this summer and visit Debbie!!!

Debbie and I were still able to make it to Jenn and her husband Dan's house and got to meet 10 week old baby Alex. He was so wonderful I hope that I have a baby as cute and as happy as he is.

He was really fun and didn't wake me up at all in the middle of the night I was very impressed!

Mommy Jenn looks amazing ( Debbie does too!)

It was so great to see them and meet the baby, can't wait to see them again in summer '09
